Leal the Dog

Leal Relent.jpg

Leal the dog was living at the farm and provided security. Vigilant each night. I wanted him to stay and live at the farm. He had another idea. For six months when I would leave the farm he would chase after the jeep. I would lose him on the mountain road watching him get smaller and smaller in the rear view mirror. He would stay with me for three or four miles at first and then increased his distance to almost five of the eight mile mountain road. I thought he would tire of this because he would have to fight his way back to the farm through a gauntlet of dogs every quarter mile determined to protect their own turf. Since I was not relenting he devised another plan. He started eating ALL of the egg production EVERY day. Dogs are not allowed at our condo in town. Was going to have to give him away. Next option was to leave him with friend Creativo who lives at the beach. Turns out the beach dogs there accepted him immediately. Now he spends his time visiting the condo, and living between the beach and the farm. Turns out he's not interested in eggs at the farm when either Lynn or I are present.
